For over 30 years, we have designed and built custom metal processing machines and automation systems from our base in Thisted, Denmark. We don’t deal in off-the-shelf quick fixes. We build the heavy-duty, reliable machinery that manufacturing companies need to actually get the work done.

Our Roots

AKEA started in the early 1990s with a simple goal: solving mechanical bottlenecks for industrial companies. Over the decades, as materials got tougher and production demands grew, our machinery evolved. What started as basic metalworking solutions has grown into fully automated robotic cells and specialized machining centers. But our approach hasn’t changed. We still believe in honest engineering, close cooperation with our customers, and building machines that last.

All Under One Roof

Today, we are a team of around 40 specialists doing everything in-house. From the first sketch to mechanical design, electrical assembly, software programming, and final testing, it all happens right here on Leopardvej. Keeping the entire process under one roof means we maintain total control over the build quality, and you always know exactly who is responsible for your machine.

Global Markets, Local Craftsmanship

While we are deeply rooted in Denmark, our machines are shipped worldwide. We deliver tailored production equipment to companies in Germany, Canada, Finland, and beyond. Whether it’s the wind energy sector, mining, automotive, or heavy infrastructure, we build the systems that shape modern industry.

Recently, we became an official system partner with KUKA Nordic. We bring decades of mechanical metalworking expertise, and they bring world-class robotics. Together, we integrate the best tools available to build automation systems that simply work.
