Built for high volume turning
The Akea Special Lathe is developed for high volume, high speed turning of bars into large bolts. It runs a free programmable contour, so each part shape is defined in software.

Pairs directly with a saw
The lathe and its part handling system are designed to integrate directly with an automated saw. Cut bars feed straight into the turning process with no manual step in between.

Double-sided for full saw capacity
When high volume is the goal, the lathe can be delivered as a double-sided machine. This lets production take full advantage of the saw’s cutting capacity.

Fast automatic part loading
An eight position tool turret sits at the heart of the machine, paired with a purpose-built system for fast, fully automatic part loading. Parts move in and out without operator handling.

Measures and corrects diameter
An integrated diameter measurement system can be added as an option. Combined with automatic diameter correction, the machine measures finished parts and corrects automatically to hold the target diameter.

Marking and logging built in
A pin marking station can be integrated into the line. Measured diameters are logged as well, giving you a record of what the machine produced.

Out to packing or robot
Finished parts move on through an integrated packing system or are delivered directly to a robot. The handoff at the end of the line stays automated.

Configured to your part range
The operator interface is intuitive and quick to learn, so changeover between part diameters is fast. The machine is customer configurable for material diameters from ø10mm to ø300mm and lengths from 20mm to 1200mm.

Built and supported in Denmark
The machine is designed and built in Thisted. Service, support and spare parts come directly from the engineering team that built it, with no intermediaries.
