The AKEA DEM Series is a range of highly productive, fully automated metal-processing machines with rotating tools and a fast handling system that moves parts through the machine. The series is developed for high-volume end-machining operations on bar and tube materials.

How it works in practice

Double end machining
The DEM Series works both ends of the part in the same cycle. Rotating tools and a fast handling system take the part through the machine.

Developed for high volume
The series is built for high volume end machining of bar and tube materials. Output runs from 30 to 1200 parts per hour.

Two to six spindles
The machines run 2 to 6 spindles working simultaneously. Spindle count follows the operations your part needs.

A wide range of operations
Turning, drilling, chamfering, peeling, thread rolling, thread cutting, key milling, end machining and cold forming. One machine covers the sequence.

Wide material range
Customer configurable for diameters from ø4mm to ø300mm and lengths from 20mm to 1200mm. That covers small components and long heavy bar alike.

Fully automated handling
The integrated handling system takes parts in, through and out of the machine. The machining process runs without manual transfer.

Saw and packing options
The machines can be integrated with a wide range of saws. A fully automated part packing system is available as well.

Quick between products
The operator interface is intuitive and easy to operate. Setup time when changing between different products is minimal.
