Semi-automatic Chamfering, Peeling and Thread rolling

The AKEA GEW 202 is part of the AKEA GEW Series but has been modified to process U-bolts and spring brackets. Like the other machines in the GEW Series, it is a productive, semi-automated metal-processing machine with rotating tools.

How it works in practice

Modified for bent parts
The GEW 202 is part of the GEW series, modified to also handle U-bolts and spring brackets. Straight rebar and bar material run on it as well.

Three operations
Chamfering, peeling and thread rolling on spring brackets and U-bolts. The same machine covers straight material without a change of setup concept.

Semi-automatic by design
The operator loads the workpieces manually. The machine then carries out the operations automatically, so the cycle itself runs without hands in it.

Threads from M12 to M56
Thread rolling runs from M12 up to M56. Part lengths go from 100mm to 500mm.

One to three spindles
Spindle count is configurable from 1 to 3 depending on your processing demands. Vices run from 1 to 2.

Output for smaller runs
The machine produces from 30 to 150 parts per hour. That suits batch work rather than continuous high volume production.

Rotating tools
The GEW 202 works with rotating tools, as the rest of the GEW series does. The productive principle is the same across the series.

Quick between products
The operator interface is intuitive and easy to operate. Setup time when changing between different products is minimal.

Built at AKEA in Thisted
The GEW 202 is made at AKEA in Thisted. Service and spare parts come from the same workshop.

The machine series is developed for chamfering, peeling, and thread-rolling processes on spring brackets and U-bolts, but it can also process straight rebar and bar material. Workpieces are loaded manually by an operator, after which the machine automatically performs the chamfering, peeling, and thread-rolling operations.
